Taormina Italy

On the Island of Sicily between Messina and Catania is a beautiful little hillside town named Taormina.  The city has views of Mt. Etna (a volcano/mountain) and the sea.  We stayed in Taormina for one night on our visit to Sicily.  My husband served as a missionary on this Island and it was a truly beautiful and magical place.  

We arrived later in the evening and found a restaurant that was open.  They made me a special pasta dish to order. It was pasta with alfredo and peas.  I still remember how much I enjoyed it.  We stayed at a hotel overlooking the ocean and were impressed with the traditional Italian decor. Note the pink/mauve bathroom and how popular this color is in this area. Even the rooftops were mauve.  I once heard that pink is the color of heaven.  This place was pretty heavenly.
