Disclaimer: You will see some beautiful children in the photos below. They do not live at the farm and will likely not be there when you visit. Some of them are my Grandchildren. We had a great time experiencing this together.
This is a fun place to visit in the predominately Amish community of Shipshewana, Indiana. The hosts of the experience are dressed in traditional Dutch attire and are very welcoming. They offer a petting zoo and a collection of animals in cages to see. When it is your turn, you get to go on wagon ride to see the exotic animals in the field.
The tour provides some containers of feed to feed the large animals as you ride through. The animals know the drill and hurry up to get some feed from the guests in the wagon. This is great for the kids to get to feed the large animals from the safety of the fenced wagon.

This is called a Zedonk and is a cross between a zebra and a donkey. There were some interesting crossbred animals on the tour. |
I think this camel was also impressed by the cuteness of our Grandchildren because she gave us her best smile.

As you arrive or leave look for the charming horse drawn buggies of the Amish Families riding to town. This was a pleasure to see some unique animals in the heart of the United States. |
