Curacao

Curacao is the third of the ABC islands in the Caribbean.  (Aruba and Bonaire being the AB contributors.) It is pronounced Cure-a-sow.  It has the most impressive tourist area right off of the cruise port of any that I have ever seen. There are beautiful Dutch style colorful buildings as well as a fort at the port.  The beaches are gorgeous while the inner part of the island is very desert-like with cactus and wild desert flora covering the land.  Here is a peek at the area right at the cruise port terminal.

We chose to spend the bulk of our day at Cas Abao Beach on the other side of the Island.   It ranked 10/10 on being scenic and we saw beautiful Caribbean fish while snorkeling.

Before heading to Cas Abao beach, we made a stop at Caracus Bay.  It seemed kind of foreboding and so we decided not to stay with the children that we were traveling with.  The industrial looking building in the water made us a little nervous.  The water was beautiful.

Some interesting sites along the way on the island of Curacao
